So we’ve got a long, skinny boy with a big head. Or as Andy put it, “He’s built like a nail!” He did great at his appointment yesterday despite being unhappy about having his nap disturbed many times for poking and prodding. He got a whole mess of shots and an oral vaccine. When they gave him the first shot (she went VERY fast with all three) he turned bright red and opened his mouth in a scream but nothing came out. Once she finished we kept telling him to Breathe! and he let out a really long, very indignant scream and cried for about 30 seconds. Then he was totally fine. The doctor advised me to back down on the War on Naps for yesterday so we came home and he slept on me for two and a half hours.

Once Andy got home I had to hand him off so I could go to my friend’s apartment for the evening. I got home about 11:30 PM and Andy said that his legs appeared to be bothering him a lot because he would scream when he kicked. We gave him another Tylenol dose and he slept fine all night. Today he seems a tiny bit out of sorts but mostly okay. His legs aren’t bothering him as much and his mood isn’t as smiley as usual. I am hopeful he’ll be back to his normal smiley self tomorrow.

All in all, it went as well as I could have hoped. The doctor said he was “perfect” (of course!) and we went for a car ride after so Eli could get a little nap. Today Andy is off so we just have a day of grocery shopping and lazing around the house.
