I’m kidding. The post has nothing to do with the inauguration although let’s just say I’m happy with it and we’ll leave it at that.

The schedule continues swimmingly although Eli has made the argument himself several times for an earlier bedtime so he’s been going down around 7:30 PM. I guess 5 until 8 is a little too long to expect a good mood but 7:30 seems to head the crankiness right off. His afternoon naps have been a bit disrupted, both my our messing with the schedule and the fact that there has been the most bizarre phenomenon here in Seattle the last few days. There’s this light outside…and it’s really bright and hurts to look at and it’s WARM. And it makes it so that you can see things really well and you don’t feel sort of sleepy and hibernate-y all the time. It makes you want to go OUT and WALK and breathe FRESH AIR. I’m scared. Anyhow, the great glowing orb is lighting up the bedroom quite well during nap time and making it a bit hard for him to sleep. Andy bought blackout curtains for the room and things went better today. We also made it out to walk around Ballard and have lunch yesterday–I’ve been hesitant to do things outside around nap time because of The Schedule. However, I realized with a 2.5 month old, it’s pretty much always around nap time. We thought he would sleep in the stroller which he did but not nearly as well as usual. We got home around 3:45 and put him down and I woke him up at his usual time so he would go to bed as usual. I felt sorry for him since he did get jipped out of at least half his usual nap but he went to bed for the night earlier so it all worked well.

We started rice cereal two nights ago. The first night we gave him only one tablespoon (wimps!) and got a 5 hour stretch. Nice but not that far off from his usual sleep. I wanted to see how it would affect the poop issue and considering the size of the blowout he had last night (yay for having him wrapped in a blanket in his car seat) I don’t think it was affected much. So last night his 7 PM bottle had 1 tablespoon and he slept until midnight then his midnight bottle had 2 tablespoons and he slept until 6:15 AM. Yay! Tonight he will have both with 2 tablespoons and we’ll see how he does and keep it at that to see how the poop goes. Exciting stuff around here.

This has nothing to do with your actual post, but we tried to get Camden to say Obama tonight and he kept saying “want mama”. It was pretty cute.

I’m glad the tummy issue hasn’t reared its ugly head. You’ll have him on a crazy predictable eating schedule in no time!
